What's up Dicky? I know we haven't given you guys anything new in a month and I'm sorry. I also know that we're supposed to be doing Fan Appreciation Week, but dude, I just got back from Ska Weekend 2006 and there's so much to say about it that I didn't think it would be good way to start fan week. It will happen, just bear with me. So Ska Weekend was this past weekend and it was both completely miserable and completely amazing. Completely miserable in the fact that I was very sick. In fact I'm still sick as I type this. Anyways, I started getting sick on Thursday so by the time Saturday rolled around I was ready to puke. Yeah. On top of that, Hoss was being extra jerky. Everything else was amazing. The people, the bands, the weather... No complaints there. I hope you don't mind, but I made a list of thank yous. Thanks to Ben for putting all this together and letting us be a part of it all again. The man is amazing and we can't say thanks enough. Thanks to Hoss and the Baron for being merch monkeys and actually selling stuff instead of scaring people away. Thanks to Mark Plaid for coming down and selling his art at our table. His stuff made ours look a like a third grader draws this comic. Also thanks for totally pimping us out to everyone because we suck at selling ourselves. Thanks to the Mysterious Matt Wixson for entertaining us at our table with his guitar. (Hoss wants to thank him for making us stop at KFC in Kentucky when no one else wanted to.) Thanks to Derek for stealing his parents van so that we could bring more people and running up Hoss's cell phone bill and the phone bill at the hotel. Thanks to The Rick for making the On & On & On sign and helping us spearhead the On & On & On chant. Thanks to Bea for watching the table so that Hoss and I could go shopping. Also, thanks for keeping us all in line and being co-denmother with me. Thanks to the Eric for being the token black guy in our group and making Hoss look like a good hacky sack player. Thanks to Mr Hardcore Motherfuckin' Al and Erin for being absolutely crazy beautiful supportive people. And also for helping a kid pick out the perfect tie. Thanks to Jason and Joe of High School Football Heroes for putting up our tent because the 21dm crew can't follow instructions. Thanks to The Rick and Bea for getting the boys some pizza. Thanks to Caveman Jim for deciding to stick around Saturday night and also for getting the boys some fries. Thanks to Steve for letting us call him Troy. Thanks to Bryan for being a sweetheart and initiating almost all our hack circles. Thanks to Sallad for being the drunkest person in not only Ska Weekend, nor in just Knoxville, but rather the entire state of Kentucky. Plus he was sporting a 21deadmonkeys tie. Thanks to Dan for helping carry our cooler and letting me crash on his hotel floor and for the light sabers. Thanks to HSFH and IV4K for the shout outs from the stage. Thanks to Tom and Kyle for being Canadian. Oh, and thanks Tom for the birthday present. (Hoss thanks them for not hating America because of Ohio.) Thanks to Max for just being awesome. I hope he got enough hugs for his hug foundation. Thanks to all the kids that came down from Michigan. We were well represented. Thanks to all the kids that hung around the 21dm table and kept us company. Thanks to anyone that bought anything from us. You helped us get enough gas to get home. Thanks to all the bands that played, especially those that played on our stage. Thanks to anybody that came out and danced. Thanks to anybody that reads this site. Without you guys, we would never have made it this far. Thanks for making us feel like rockstars for a weekend. Thanks to anybody we may have forgot. That was a lot thank yous, but we honestly mean them. We'll talk more next time. Laters. off the train, |
