so girls dry your tears

So I went to see the Leftover Crack/Casaulties show on Wednesday. That was... different. I think that's the first punk show I've been to in quite some time. Well, unless you count Riot Fest like Ren said. But yeah, I stayed tucked in a corner with the other "ska" kids for most of the night. Coming out for LoC and then looking longingly at the exits afterwards. You might be saying "Well, why didn't you just leave like the rest of the crowd did?" Believe me when I say that Hoss and me wanted to but we had brought our younger cousin and he's a Casualties fan and we couldn't just leave him in Detroit. I mean, we thought about it, but we just couldn't do it. We even tried retreating to the balconey for comfort only to be met by the deafening sounds of horrible, horrible techno. Like, I can enjoy techno when it's good, but this was so bad. Our friend Steve didn't even last two minutes out there. Whatever. I had a good time. LoC played 500 Channels which I think we can all agree is one of the most perfect songs in existence. So Michigan, when is the next show? I can't make Reel Big Fish tonight. Deal's Gone Bad in Lansing? Let me know.

Also, you guys probably know by now that the Flaming Tsunamis will cease to exist after this year. If you can make it out to one of their final shows, you really should. I was supposed to be at thier last Boston show but fate had other plans. Here's hoping I can make that sweet Jersey show or even better, their last CT show. Anyways, they also re-issusing Zombies Vs Robots on vinyl. I think there is three different versions... a robot one, a zombie one, and then a combo of the two... But yeah, you can head over to Asbestos records or the Tsunamis myspace page to find out more. At least go take a look, even if you don't plan on buying it. Maybe you'll find something else at Asbestos seeing as they've been putting out a lot of ska vinyl recently. Here's hoping my TFT records are in the mail!

If you're on Twitter, I actually let people know on there when the site gets updated. Just throwing it out there. It's cool though if you like the surprise of checking the page and finding something new up.

off the train,
