god called in sick today

Better late than never... or something like that.

This comic was originally going to be Boston and Ducky Boy. Then I got to thinking that I didn't want Ducky Boy acknowledging a god, so I changed him to the Devil. Who better to discuss God with than the devil? And then instead of Boston, Hoss said it should be Baron Von Drewsuf. The Baron has a quite the track record of his favorite bands breaking up. He's responsible for the demise of bands like Craig's Brother, the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, and the Murder City Devils. (I don't think he's responsible for O-town's break up. I think someone just forgot to do their paperwork down in hell on that one.) It's amazing that bands like AFI and Tiger Army are still around when you think about it. I think Drewsuf wrote a rant about this in the Rants and Reviews section (back when he was still contributing to this site).

If you're wondering who that guy is in the last panel and why he's there, that's Surly Guy. Surly Guy is Hoss and Drewsuf's favorite character. They're always saying he should be in more strips. If you're wondering where he's from, go here. He was just some extra guy I drew and the guys went nuts over him and named him Surly Guy. He's in this comic for the sole purpose of pleasing the guys.

Anyways, this comic came about when I was going through my cds and thinking of all the bands I love that have moved on to greener pastures. I'm not talking about bigger bands like Skankin' Pickle or Op Ivy. I'm talking about little bands that never made it. Bands you've probably never even heard of. Like there was this local band from Eastpointe called Ich Bin Ein Berliner that I was so in love with. They were awesome and I honestly think they would have been bigger if they would have toured. I got to see Jerkwater Jive once before they called it quits. It was down in Toledo and there was just a handful of kids, but man it was fun. The Vent-o-lators were from Texas. I never got to see 'em live but I absolutely love their cd. It's one of those ones that's hard to take out once it's in. I found out about What's Your Problem Brian? right before they broke up. I got to see Edna's Goldfish a couple of times before they disbanded. They were just starting to get a good following too. And whatever happened to No on 15?

I bet you know a few bands that you wish would have stuck around longer too. Oh well, enjoy your weekend. Ducky Boy is up for a visit. Yay! Please vote for us at buzzComix and we'll see ya on Monday. Hugs.
